The Bolivar Harpers Ferry Public Library is excited to offer a wide range of events for our community during our summer reading program, “Adventures in Reading,” May 28th through July 26^th.  These events are only possible through the generous donations and support we receive from local businesses and community volunteers.

Be sure to join our official kick off to Summer Reading free concert at the library on June 7th featuring Billy and the Curley Brothers. Music starts at 6pm.  A food truck will be available for dinner purchases during the concert.

Children, teens, and adults can sign up for their reading logs and start their reading adventure beginning May 28^th. Participants will be able to earn tickets to be entered into prize drawings by completing the reading and adventure challenges on their reading logs.  Tickets will be handed out beginning June 10^th.

Activity sign-up sheets will be available starting June 4^th at the library or by phone.

Children and teen programing highlights include: Jenn’s Uncommon Critters, cake decorating, a running book club, Nasa’s Star Lab, Crystal book DIY, and two story walks.

Adult programing highlights include: cooking with essential oils, a glass sun catcher craft, tie-dying, a talk on Bird song and river health, and the always popular, adult BINGO night.

The program will wrap up on July 26^th.  Join us for our sponsored family movie, Lyle Lyle Crocodile (rated G) at The Amp where children’s and teen’s prizes will be drawn, or our adult end of summer reading potluck and enjoy a “best books read this summer” discussion before the adult prize drawing.
